Traditional outpatient & aftercare
Weekly sessions, a relapse-prevention plan and alumni support that keeps working long after formal treatment ends.

What recovery at Woburn feels like
Straight answers
Questions everyone asks first
What outpatient programs does Woburn Addiction Treatment offer?
Three levels of care: full day treatment (often called partial hospitalization or PHP), partial day treatment (often called intensive outpatient or IOP), and traditional weekly outpatient. Your level is determined by a clinical assessment, and you can step down through levels as you progress.
Can I keep working while attending outpatient treatment?
Yes. Sessions run during the day, in the evening, and on weekends specifically so treatment fits around jobs, school, and family. Partial day treatment in particular is built for people who need structured support without stepping away from their lives.
How is outpatient different from residential treatment?
You live at home and travel to the facility for treatment instead of staying overnight. Programming is the same evidence-based care: individual therapy, group therapy, dual diagnosis treatment, and medication management, delivered by licensed clinicians.
Do I have to do detox or residential first?
No. Some clients start directly in outpatient. A confidential assessment determines the right entry point. If withdrawal management is needed first, we handle detox on site and transition you into outpatient care when you are ready, all within one program.
Does insurance cover outpatient treatment?
Most insurance plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Harvard Pilgrim, Tufts, Aetna, Cigna, and United Healthcare, cover outpatient addiction and mental health treatment in Massachusetts. Many clients pay little or nothing out of pocket. Verify your benefits in one confidential call at (781) 622-9190 or through our online form. Your provider is not notified.
How many hours per week is outpatient treatment?
Full day treatment runs up to eight hours per day, five days per week. Partial day treatment is several hours a day, up to five days per week, with day and evening options. Traditional outpatient is weekly sessions for clients further along in recovery.
How quickly can I start?
Often the same day. One call covers your assessment, insurance verification, and scheduling, and admissions coordinators are available 24/7.
